Agar-agar is a non-digestible polysaccharide extracted from red algae such as Gelidium amansii growing in clean seawater area. Having been used as a material for home cooking since the old days, Agar-agar is now widely used for making jellies, cookies, tissue culture, and bacteriological cultivation base. Especially, being acknowledged as the best source for dietary fiber, it has currently become then best source of high quality dietary foods.

Quality standards met the national standard GB1975-80 provides that:

Water insoluble%: ≤ 1,
Arsenic (AS)% of heavy metals: ≤ 0.0001
